REGIO – The Regional Operational Program 2014-2020 aimed to increase economic competitiveness and improve the living conditions of local and regional communities, by supporting the development of the business environment, infrastructure and services, for the sustainable development of the regions, so that they can manage resource efficiently and capitalize on the potential for innovation and assimilation of technological progress.
The estimated financial allocation for Bucharest-Ilfov region was 451,736,907 euros on five priority axes, of which 356,638,299 euros were ERDF contributions and 95,098,608 euros were governmental funds.
In the Bucharest-Ilfov region, REGIO is implemented by an Intermediate Body within the Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Agency (ADRBI), a non-governmental, non-profit organization of public utility, established in 1999, which operates under the law 315/2004 on regional development in Romania. The main activity of ADRBI is the provision of specific services to the local public administration and the private sector, with the view of developing the Bucharest-Ilfov region.
330 REGIO projects have been submitted so far in the region, resulting in 219 financing contracts signed, the total non-reimbursable contracted value being 3,206,502,398 lei.
